Here's the latest news from rail industry suppliers:A consortium comprising Bombardier Transportation and Talgoobtained a 14-year contract from Spanish national railway RENFE tomaintain 45 AVE S-130 high-speed trains. The companies will conductmaintenance activities at RENFE's depots in Santa Catalina andFuencarral through 2022. Bombardier's portion of the contracttotals $202 million.
Enterprise Wireless Alliance obtained a three-year contractto provide FCC license management, application preparation,frequency coordination and related spectrum advisory services tothe Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Brookville Equipment Corp. is continuing its demonstrationtour with the new CoGeneration(tm) Locomotive. The unit recentlyarrived at CSX Transportation's TRANSFLO bulk transfer terminal inHagerstown, Md., after completing a 90-day demonstration withNorfolk Southern Corp., during which time Brookville found thelocomotive to perform at a higher fuel efficiency and loweremissions than a standard switcher locomotive.
Ireco L.L.C. has developed a combination winch mandrelreplacement kit that can convert cable or webbing winches oncenterbeam and flat cars to combination winches "in a matterof minutes," according to the company.
